This one has come to me a little late, so sorry about the short notice, but if you are in the area and in the mood for some ace elctronica / electro then head on down to the Island bar tomorrw night and witness the Robot vs Dinosaur goodness.

 Some sad news for 163 staff who have been made as a result of Sound Control holdings going into administration. The Turnkey website states that “Whilst the Sound Control Group remains in administration, no orders can be place on this website”.

So far many of the stores are still open, however 10 have been recently closed down.

The Daily Telegraph comments: “Britain’s largest musical instrument retailer Sound Control Holdings has fallen victim to competition from the internet, appointing Deloitte as administrator, which has made 163 staff redundant.”

To coincide with a new album, Tim Gane has recently been interviewed on Pitchfork. Being a massive Stereolab fan I thought this would be something worthy to share through klunk.

Also worthy of note is that the  first new Stereolab track from the forthcoming LP ‘Chemical Chords’ is available now on iTunes, the track is called ‘Three Women’.
