Robot vs Dinosaur turned out to be a brilliant night! Arc Vel performed a crisp set of chilled beats and Portmanteau massaged the audience into some serious head nodding and body twitching with their blend of groove heavy glitch electronica. The djs played some crowd pleasing tunes also – I witnessed the barman moving around a bit to Squarepusher – Red Hot Car. So all in all a way top night in a perfectly formed space. Looking forward to the next one.
This is a short-ish clip of video taken of me playing live at Concrete in Birmingham on Friday the 22nd of February. The event was organised by Project X Presents, where an eclectic collection of artists came together under one roof to make a truely wonderful night.
I have some photos taken during the night too, which I will put up shortly.
Being as everyone loves a freebie, I have knocked together a short track which is intended for use as a ringtone on modern mobile telephones. Below are links to both the MP3 and AAC formats. I have not been able to test the AAC format on another phone, so please let me know if it works.
Anyway you now too can have people look at you oddly when you mobile phone starts ringing – just like me.
Good Times
Slightly abstract title I am afraid and it is slightly old news, but worth mentioning none the less…Friend of Klunk, Loopz has had one of his tracks re-worked by Long Range (ex Orbital brother Phil Hartnoll and creative partner Nick Smith). The song Punky is silky smooth chilled piece of electronica and well worth investigating. It features as the last song on the album "Madness and Me".
