X-Station Battery 3 Kit

November 19th, 2007

Following on from the recent ER1 kit, I thought I would cpature a few more samples and drop them into a nice Battery 3 kit. Feel free to download the free kit and use as you see fit. Hopefully there will be some more of these coming in the future (when I get chance to sample some more stuff).

Enjoy!

Proper sidechain compression in Cubase 4.1 at last!

November 16th, 2007

This isn’t really a local topic, but something which should interest users (myself included) who have had to put it with work arounds to get sidechain compression working within Cubase. Well friends you need work around no longer being as Steinberg have got their act together and finally made it a feature of Cubase 4.1 and Cubase Studio 4.1.

I am currently downloading my upgrade as I type and am looking forward to being able to get a pumping bass line going with far less hassle.

Integra – A composition and performance environment

November 10th, 2007

I have just stumbled upon this website http://www.integralive.org/.

From what I can gather (reading through the site) is that Integra is a 3-year project led by the Birmingham Conservatoire and is part financed by Culture 2000. The main objective is to create an Open Source composition and performance environment…

I have yet to try the alpha release of the software, but will do so and report my findings in the near future.
